Last week, Helsinki, Finland has been chosen to be the Design Capital for the year 2012. This biennially, wants to highlight cities that are truly leveraging design as a tool to improve the social, cultural and economic life of cities, throughout a yearlong programme of design-related events.
Turin, Italy held the honor of hosting the zero edition of the event in 2008, while Seoul, Korea will be the first real World Design Capital in 2010. 2 examples of Seoul's preparations for 2012:
- Fluid Amphibious Pavilion for 2012 World Expo
- EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea - ONE OCEAN
