The croatian architectural firm UPI-2M has designed 'biooctanic', a series of crop production towers used for the production of bio fuel and city air recuperation.
Their solution is a creation of utility towers used for production of bio fuel and city air recuperation. The idea is to place these towers on the very positions of existing petrol stations in cities. One of the important aspect of this, vertical farming. Their research led us to conclusion that algae and bamboo would give the best production results. Apart from that, these plants aren't soil-dependant, which means that they can be grown in pools of water.
